We are more than happy to announce that TRINITY LAB is back for the third time. It will take place from September 25th 29th in Shanghai, China. We are collaborating with Shanghai Vancouver Film School to offer you an intense 5-day training program. You will master setup, operation, and gain confidence with TRINITY, enabling you to provide new angles and storytelling options for directors and cinematographers.
LEARNING GOALS

- Setting up the camera systems and their accessories
- Ensuring proper balance for each camera setup
- Adjusting the Vest for an optimal fit across different body types
- Adapting the Suspension Arm to various scenarious
- Mastering the use of the control joystick
- Achieving smooth transitions between high and low modes
- Practicing fundamental movements and drills with the TRINITY
- Developing a thorough understanding of the software and GUI applications for advanced configurations
- Praciticing with the TRINITY to master essential camera movements on set, including track shots, back-and-forth, side-to-side, 360-degree rotations, Don Juan position, low mode, and more
- Putting participants to the test with a variety of practical shoots, including music videos, narrative scenes, and long take challange
COURSE FRAMEWORK
DAY 1
Learn TRINITY’s hardware, assembly steps, balance theory, and practice assembling and balancing.
DAY 2
Adjust Vest and Arm, begin with TRINITY steps, learn Tilt and Boom movements, and use the remote joystick. Start training with some basic movements.
DAY 3
Practice different camera setups, explore software and GUI for advanced configurations, then continue with practice, rehearsal, and principle shooting with dancers.
DAY 4
Review all steps, introduce X-Mode on TRINITY, and practice in various shooting scenarios with actors.
DAY 5
Introduction and rehearsal of the long take, followed by practice, principle shooting, review and Q&A, ceremony and wrap party.
GROUP DIVISION
TRINITY Beginner
The participants in this group are recommended to already be camera operators and/or Steadicam operators with experience in the industry. Operators without Steadicam background can also join in but they might have good physical resistance and no knees or back injuries in the past.
TRINITY Intermediate
The participants in this group will need to provide a showreel and have experience working with the TRINITY. We will interview each of them to understand their goals and adjust our program to meet their needs.

Shanghai Vancouver Film School
Our partner is Shanghai Vancouver Film School, established in 2014 by Shanghai University and Vancouver Film School, is China’s only institution offering a North American faculty, English instruction, and a Hollywood-based curriculum. With over 30 international faculty members, including Oscar and Emmy winners. It attracts global film professionals to Shanghai, fostering a hub for film production, learning, and research, and aims to become a global post-production center.
Training location
Rainbow Studio
The training will be held at Rainbow Studio, Shanghai, which is a comprehensive, multi-dimensional service provider offering a wide array of facilities and services for film and television production.
The theory sessions and practical training will take place in a training room. Later, we will move to a music video set and pre-constructed home-scene studio.
Accommodation and catering
During the training, we will provide you with meals and accommodation (full board in comfortable single hotel rooms) to ensure you can fully focus on learning.
Wrap party and Graduation
The wrap party and graduation ceremony will take place on the final day of the LAB. Each participant will receive a Trinity training certification, jointly issued by Trinity Lab and Shanghai Vancouver Film School.
